Cyberjaya, Malaysia – A conference held yesterday at Malaysian Global Innovation & Creativity Centre (MaGIC) by ElMangos on the Islamic Digital Economy Experience (IDEX) brought participants together from corporations, technology startups and industry players in the Halal business segment to discuss and get up to date knowledge on digitization and Islamic Financial Technology (Islamic Fintech).
The conference titled, GIFS X IDEX, Global Islamic Fintech Summit X Islamic Digital Economy 2019, had speakers from around the world to discuss the latest ideas, trends, and issues on innovation and entrepreneurship in the digital age for the halal markets and Islamic economy. The conference spans over three days.
MaGIC Executive Director of Finance and Corporate Services, Mr. Amiruddin Abdul Shuko, began with a welcoming address to participants. Two speakers from Bosnia, MrNermin Hadžić and MrKerim Balić, spoke about mobile app developments and API strategy and implementations respectively. Dr. Shaher Abbas from Bahrain spoke on Islamic financial engineering for Islamic Fintech.
The second half of the first day had Takamasa Kawasaki, a CEO for a UK-based charity platform, Zen Global, who put forward the issue of social impact via digital financial inclusion, in the age of technological innovation. The session wrapped up for the day with Mr. Azleen Abdul Raheem, who shared how he acquired at least one client a week using the professional social media platform, Linkedin.
