Islam and justice go hand in hand. One can’t claim to be a practicing Muslim and turn a blind eye to injustice and oppression. For the past few days, we’ve all seen and heard, whether on traditional media or on social media, the oppressions of the Zionist regime has done on the Muslim Palestinians of Jerusalem.
All these atrocities were done on unarmed people who were praying during the holiest month in Islam, and in the last ten nights of Ramadan, the most sacred nights of the holiest month in masjid al-Aqsa, the third holiest mosque in Islam.
We were at first hesitant to share this topic, simply because: as ordinary Muslims, first we feel angry at the injustice done on our brothers and sisters in Palestine, and second, we feel helpless to help them, beyong our prayers and du’a.
Halalop was created to inspire Muslims, and highlight the positive side of Muslims: Muslim achievements in science, technology, business and life, and to reconnect Muslims with the Qur’an as part of their daily lives. Our aim is simple: to highlight to Muslims of our own achievements, and change our own views of ourselves (and non-Muslims views of us).
So in this case, how can we change the views of Muslims and non-Muslims about this ongoing conflict?
Beyond making du’as and collecting funds for humanitarian reliefs, let us all do our part to educate and inform the others – non-Muslims and the generally apathetic global population – about the true nature of this conflict.
When we educate and inform others of the true nature of the conflict, at the least, people will have a more balanced view of the situation, and see not a one-sided narrative, but the whole picture. Keep sharing the real news, videos, images of the atrocities done by the oppressors on social media.
Why is this important? Because Western media have been biased and pro-Israeli in their reporting, regardless of the truth. Western media are just propogating their own agenda.
Social media has the ability to change the perception of the public with truth reporting. Where in the past, the Western media and the perpetrators have a monopoly on their narratives, this time, social media plays a vital role in revealing the truth, the true nature of this conflict. How to know if it works? Because their government is asking the social media owners: Facebook, Instagram, and Tittok to remove content relating to Palestine. But worry not, some content about the latest Palestinian news still gets updated on social media.
Let’s relay some facts behind the on-going conflict:
Simply by looking at the map, you can’t help wonder what are the Muslims doing.
Where is Allah’s help, I been praying for Palestine ever since I was single, now my eldest son in his twenties. When is the help is going to come, it is going to come in 2024.
First of all, Allah s.w.t is the All-Knower, the All-Wise. He knows best of His plans, that we mere mortals don’t know or fully comprehend.
When calamities hit us, we sometimes ask where is Allah’s help? This is expected from us normal humans, as Allah stated in the Qur’an:
“Do you really think that you will enter Paradise without going through what those who came before you endured? They were afflicted with such adversity and hardship and shaken to the core to the point that the Messenger and those with him cried, ‘Where is the Help of Allah?!’ Ah! But the help of Allah was ever near.”
[The Qur’an 2:214]
Let us not lose hope in Allah’s help, for His promise is true.
Let’s all make du’a for Allah s.w.t. to protect our oppressed brothers and sisters in Palestine and all around the world.
