A Superfood in the Quran that’ll help you lose weight and stay healthy

Foods in the Quran share a similarity with Nobel Prize winners, they are given the recognition because of their extraordinary qualities. Similarly, foods that is mentioned in the Quran have an extraordinary healing properties.  

One of that food is the Fig as mentioned in Surah 95 of the Quran. Recent discoveries have pointed out the Fig may well be one of the most powerful in the world. The number of diseases and ailments that it can help with is simply too many to list down. Here is what has been discovered about the Fig.

Weight Lost

Figs are ideal for those trying to lose weight. It contains the digestive enzymes for all the three components of diet: Proteins, carbohydrates and fat. Apart from that dried figs are low in calories. One piece of dried fig gives you just 47 calories. And, you obtain only 0.2 grams of total fat per dried fig. So, dried figs are an ideal snack for people who want to lose weight.

Powerful Antioxidants

Fig  is also a powerful antioxidant more powerful than Acai Berry. Acai Berry is deemed to be the miracle food by some nutritionist, but actually, Figleaves contain more antioxidants than Acai Berry could possibly have. Antioxidants fight against free radicals which are damaging the human body and cause the human body to age.  

Lower Blood Sugar Level

Figs are known for their anti-diabetic properties. What you need to do is to boil four leaves of the fig in some freshly filtered or bottled mineral water and drink this as a tea. Diabetic has been found to need less insulin when they take this.Some even recommend taking fig leaves tea every day at breakfast.

Prevent Heart Attack

Fig can also reduce triglycerides which simply put are fat in the blood. They are used to give energy to your body. If you have excess, they are stored in different places of the body and retrieve when needed. A high level of triglycerides has been linked to a greater chance for heart disease and stroke. It also important fats such as omega 3 and omega which decrease your risk of heart attack.

Reduce Cancer Risk


In Sweden, a scientific study in postmenopausal women was done. It was found the intake of high fibre fruits can reduce the risk of breast cancer by 34%. Fruits like apple, plum and dates are known to be rich in fibre but in actual fact, the fig has more fibre than any of them.   

These are just some of the powerful benefits of fig and fig leaves that come to light in recent years. If it mentioned in the Quran you can be sure there is a lot more hidden medicinal benefits of Fig. Whatever it is, fig is something that must have in your kitchen cabinet.
